38 Studios = Chapter 13 Studios? Also, Sniper.

As a resident of the biggest little state in the Union, Rhode Island, I couldn't help but hear about the bit news that's been all over the media: Curt Schilling's 38 Studios will not be able to pay back its $120 million loan to the state. At least that money is a drop in the bucket to our vast coffers of gold and jewels. Oh, wait, my state is poor. Like Ramen Noodles every night poor. Don't get me wrong, the 14 year old in my brain was super excited about this deal to get the studio to move to Providence...

New Dev Journal and a Bit of Heresy

A new Dev Journal has been posted over on the Second Contact's site that focuses on how units will work in the game.

Second Contact Site

Speaking of which, we will be announcing another unit type this week, so stay tuned!

Yesterday I finished  "Know No Fear" by Dan Abnett. Two words: freakin' awesome! I am going do a post on the Horus Heresy books as a whole sometime in the near future as I am just about caught up with the *now* 20 book series.

Before I do, I wanted to bring your attention to this amazing piece of artwork for one of the Black Library's upcoming books:

It is the cover art from "Primarchs", which is coming out next month. Can you name all 9 Primarchs pictured??

And so it [hopefully!] begins?

Today we received our first contribution for our concept artwork campaign on indiegogo.com.

I must say that although I was expecting to get at least some support, I was surprised how humbled I felt knowing that someone, somewhere out there believes in this project enough to contribute.

Thank you, Mr. First Donator, and to all those who contribute in the future.

For those who haven't taken a gander yet, here it is:

Here We (IndieGo)go!

Okay, so I stole that line from the game's blog (which is also my blog), but I couldn't think of a better way to announce the launching of my very first project on indiegogo.com!

The goal of the campaign is to raise funds to fulfill our concept artwork needs while our programming monkeys are slaving away on the prototype. Follow the link below to the campaign itself or the game's website...
